About
Dr James Hunt is a Founding Fellow in Pain Management of the American College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (ACVAA), and an EBVS® and RCVS Specialist in Animal Welfare Science, Ethics and Law. He holds a PhD and a Master’s in pain, the European Diploma in Animal Welfare Science, Ethics and Law, and the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Anaesthesia.
He has worked within first opinion practice and as a clinical anaesthetist in multi-disciplinary referral hospitals.
In practice, this means a depth of training in pain assessment and treatment that general practice is not structured to provide, combined with a straightforward, honest approach to what is and isn’t likely to help.
James is a published author in his field. He co-wrote the chapter on chronic and osteoarthritic pain, with Kate White, in the BSAVA Guide to Pain Management in Small Animal Practice (BSAVA, 2019). A full list of publications is available on his Google Scholar profile.
